  2. Thanks for sharing this! Great idea. I also find that if I ask people to put their attention on the way their body feels (as opposed to what occurred) and the sensations in their body (also asking them to stay out of their heads), that it is easier for them to process. And because it is the body that needs to process the issue, this helps the healing/release!

  3. Thank you for those kind words. I agree with putting the attention on how they feel this physically in their body and I would often use this approach as the simplest method.

    To me an important part this process is the third person perspective it gives the client on themselves. In the case of this client and others it gives them access to whatever judgemental attitudes and feelings they have about that younger self.
    It makes it easier to tap out any self-recriminations and blame they may have and adopt a more compassionate attitude to themselves. This is very useful in some cases.
