The EFT Level 1+ is a two-day training showing you how to use of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) to give you a simple and versatile way of making a difference in your emotional life.

Do you often feel anxious or stressed?
Sometimes anxiety or other negative emotions can really interfere with your life stopping you from doing the kinds of things you’d really like to. After this course you’ll have a simple method for substantially reducing the negative emotions in your life and giving you much more freedom

Are you a hostage to the past?
Are you haunted by the past, bothered by old unpleasant memories. When you finish this course you’ll be able to neutralise old unhelpful memories and break free of the past.

Do you suffer from physical symptoms or pain?
Sometimes physical symptoms, especially pain, can make life quite unpleasant. At the end of this course you will have a way of relieving symptoms and feeling comfortably relaxed.

Having trouble giving up things that are bad for you?
Chocolate, cigarettes, nail-biting and other compulsive habits can be very frustrating, sometimes willpower alone is just not enough. After this course you will have a way to reduce or even eliminate those compulsions so that you may not need any willpower to make those changes.

Where, When and How Much?

10am to 5pm on March 3rd & 4th, 2012 at St Oswald’s Hospice Teaching Centre, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Felicity James, mother, grandmother and ex-primary school teacher (who wishes she knew about EFT when she was still teaching) will be presenting EFT for Children, Grandchildren and Inner Children.

EFT is a surprisingly quick and effective tool for working with the fears and distresses of young children; helping them to calm down and feel a bit better – very useful for the craziness of the Christmas Season.

Felicity will talk about and demonstrate her ways of using EFT with kids, including playful ways of tapping with them, as well as using toys as surrogates to help children — deal with their every day upsets.

To attend this workshop you will need to know some basic EFT and bring along a Teddy bear, doll or any stuffed toy big enough to tap on. – and don’t forget to bring along your inner child as well.

Jelly babies (and a lot of fun) will be provided.

The EFT Cafe will be on Wednesday 14th December, 7pm-9pm at St Oswald’s Hospice Teaching Centre, Gosforth, Newcastle. The cost is just £10

In this month’s EFT Café we will be looking a flexible and more powerful alternative to affirmations – questions.

Using EFT with questions can be a great way to direct your attention towards the things that you want without getting the ‘kickback’ (or tail-enders) associated with affirmations.

Questions always direct your attention. You can’t help it, a question will send your mind off looking for an answer. Good questions send your mind off in useful directions, unhelpful questions send your mind off in less useful directions.

If you are always asking yourself: “What is wrong with me?”, or “How can I be so stupid?”, your brain will oblige you by going off and looking for reasons to back up those ideas.

If you ask yourself: “What do I want?”, or “What can I learn from this situation?” then your brain will oblige you by looking for the answers to those questions which will take you somewhere more useful.

Because you have a tendency to get what you focus on your questions can be a powerful ally in getting you where you want to go.

While using questions by themselves is a powerful tool for self-development. Using questions with tapping to take care of any resistance or blocks within the answer to the question can help you get where you want to go even more quickly.

In this month’s EFT Café, Andy Hunt will explore the use of different kinds of questions and EFT to get you going to where you want to be.

The EFT Café is at St Oswald’s Hospice Teaching Centre on Wednesday 9th November from 7pm-9pm, cost is just £10.

Let’s imagine that, like someone in a strong man contest, you are harnessed to an invisible 10 tonne truck.

Wherever you go, whatever you do you have to drag this truck behind you and it is hard work.

Now, let’s imagine that you want to go on a family picnic to the seaside.

It’s a beautiful day, there’s not a cloud in the sky and the fine beach is just a short distance away. But you are harnessed to this invisible truck and where you go, it goes.

There are two approaches you can take to going on your picnic:

Plan A.

You recognise it might be an effort so you start to train: working out on weights machines, eating high protein power foods. Bulking up your muscles for the struggle of getting you and the truck to the beach.

You know it’s going to be tough so you start listening to motivational speakers giving you all the encouragement you need to smash through your resistance, power through your problems on the way to your glorious goal.

You spend time everyday visualising the happy faces of your family enjoying fun in the sun on a day out to the beach.

When you are ready, when you have prepared physically and psyched yourself up for the big day you and your invisible truck start out towards the beach.

It’s a huge struggle. You (wo)manfully strain against the weight of the truck, pulling with all your might. Perspiration breaks out on your skin as you strain at the ropes. Painfully slowly you start to move in the direction you want to go. Your progress is slow, marked by grunts and curses.

If you are lucky you get to the beach physically and emotionally wrecked, or you give up, go home feeling beaten and you order another, even stronger, motivational recording.

or

Plan B.

You undo the harness, leave the truck behind, and walk down to the beach to enjoy a great day out.

So which approach would you choose?

Call me a slacker, but I would choose Plan B.

But there is a problem with Plan B.

If you are harnessed to an invisible truck that holds you back, you can’t see the truck or the harness. You can feel the resistance and the struggle when you move towards your goals but you don’t know what is causing it or how to get over it. You may have been struggling like this for a very long time and now it seems that this is just the way things are.

If you could only see the truck and the harness you might be able to undo the buckles and get on with what you want to do without that painful struggle.

At the Getting Out Of Your Own Way workshop on November 19th 2011 in Newcastle, I will be showing you how to uncover the invisible barriers to your progress and how to undo them using EFT.

Using these techniques it can be surprisingly easy to get free of that dead weight, or would you prefer to keep dragging your invisible truck around?

Do you have projects, goals or outcomes that are taking you forever to get started or completed?

Do you get in your own way by procrastinating, avoiding what you need to do or fighting with yourself to do it?

Welcome to the ‘resistance’ – the unconscious blocks, fears and limiting beliefs that keep us from getting where we want to go.

There are two ways to deal with the resistance.

1. Tough it out

This is the traditional approach. Force yourself to do the work that needs to be done. Struggle through each task to get to your goal. You can do it this way (a lot of people do achieve great things this way) but it is a lot of effort and struggle.

Not only do you have to do the work required to reach your goal, you also have to do the hard work required to get yourself to do the work required to get you to your goal.

It’s a tiring and stressful way to achieve stuff.

2. Make it easier for yourself

This is a new way of doing things made possible by techniques such as EFT that let you easily change entrenched patterns of thought and feelings. In this approach you identify your blocks and limiting beliefs around a goal, dissolve them, then all you have to do is the work of the project.

This way you spend a little time at the beginning to clear your own resistance to your goal, when that is cleared you can do whatever needs to be done with yourself as an ally instead of an opponent.

If you want to know how to get out of your own way, there is a one day workshop “Getting Out Of Your Own Way” in Newcastle upon Tyne on Saturday 19th November that will show you how to do it.

All you need to do is bring an unrealised goal, outcome or project to this workshop where you will learn

How to make sure that this is the right goal for you.

How to uncover and unpack the limiting beliefs and blocks that get in the way of achieving that goal

How to dissolve the blocks you have found using specific EFT strategies developed for working with these kinds of issues.

How to create a path to achieving that goal without being overwhelmed or confused

At the end of the day you will have a plan for achieving your goal and much less resistance than you started with. You will also have a technique that you can use with any other project or goal you want to undertake.

This workshop is for you if you get stuck in your own projects, or you work with people who do.

There are only two requirements.

You need a goal or project that is proving difficult to achieve.

Some prior experience of EFT, preferably EFT Level 1 or above

The workshop costs just £49.50 for the first four people to sign up, and £69.50 after that.

There are only 12 spaces available on this workshop so book early.

To find out more click here.

Click on Getting Out Of Your Own Way to book your place online.

Important: This workshop is about the “Law of Action” NOT the “Law of Attraction”. It is not about metaphysical manifestation of outcomes, it is about getting out of your own way so you are able to do the work that you need to do to get what you want.

This AAMET approved course is for people who want to learn how to use Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), a simple and powerful self-help technique for themselves, family and friends. It is also the first step for counsellors and therapists who want to learn how to add these techniques to their toolboxes.

Why is this a two day training?

Most AAMET EFT Level 1 trainings take just one day so why a two day training?

There are a few reasons:

1. There is a lot to learn
There is a large amount of information and techniques to fit into a one day training. To cover the ground in the time available means that you don’t have much time to explore the techniques in much detail. It’s a whistle-stop tour through the basics, working with memories, dealing with cravings, and using EFT with physical issues. That is a lot of material to cover in a short space of time and it’s difficult to do it justice in one day.

2. To learn EFT you need to practice.
You can learn about EFT in a day, to learn how to use EFT you need to practice. The more practice you get the more you learn. In a one day Level 1 training it is only possible to give a limited amount of practical experience in the time available. In two days there is more time to practice, reflect on, and discuss what you are doing.

3. Practice gives confidence.
Many people have the experience of being bowled over by the results of EFT during a one day training. They are amazed and inspired by what they learn during the day, but when they get home they are not sure how to put their learning into practice without the trainer to ask. You need to have the practice to gain confidence in what you are doing and how to do it so that you can use it for yourself.

The EFT Level 1+ course covers the AAMET Level 1 syllabus, gives you many opportunities to practice and adds two new processes specifically designed for using EFT In daily life. It is designed to give you a thorough introduction to EFT and give you the skills and confidence to use it beyond the training room.

The EFT Level 1+ consists of eight modules spread over the two days.

Module 1: Introduction to EFT and ‘The Basic Recipe’

Module 2: Principles of EFT and the Simple version.

Module 3: Using EFT to take the strain out of challenging situations.

Module 4: Neutralising unpleasant memories with EFT

Module 5: The Personal Peace Procedure – A step by step process for undoing the past.

Module 6: Working with cravings and physical issues

Module 7: Taking the strain out of challenging relationships

Module 8: More practice and how to use EFT in daily life

The course includes a full manual and all training materials. At the end of the training you will receive an AAMET EFT Level 1 Attendance Certificate which is required if you want to progress to the EFT Level 2 training to add EFT to your professional tool box.

Time and Place

10am to 5pm on December 3rd & 4th at St Oswald’s Hospice Teaching Centre, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Fees

The first four people to apply will receive a special price of just £95 for the two day training.

Thereafter the Early Bird fee will be £125 until November 19th, then the full fee of £145 will apply.

Click on EFT Level 1+ December 2011 to book your place.

Anyone with an existing AAMET EFT Level 1 certificate can attend this course as a refresher for just £30, if you have previously trained with Practical Wellbeing you can attend for just £20 (get in touch with me if this applies to you).
